Every once in a while.. I find a gem.  A real gem.

No, this isn’t so much mortgage related as much as it’s a piece of advice that will create more efficiency in your life.  Well worth read.  Oh, and it’s free.

I’m personally all about making life more simple and what I like to think is organized.  I was talking today with a gal (Lori) from a company that specializes in helping make life simple.  We were talking and a service called Jott.com.  In short, Jott allows you to call in reminders (verbally) that are automatically e-mailed/text messaged to you (transcribed).

Let me give you an example:
I have just left an appointment and made a few promises.

  1. I’ll connect that referral partner with 3 super cool people.
  2. Add them to my LinkedIn network.
  3. Send them a thank you note.
  4. Receive income and asset documents.
  5. Remember their son’s 7th birthday next Thursday.

Ok, yea – that’s a lot to remember.  Right?  Well, that’s where Jott comes in.  You call their 1-800 number from your cell phone.  The automated service automatically recognizes you’re calling and asks you who you want to Jott.  In this case I would Jott ‘Myself’.  Then I hear a beep and then I leave my reminder.  As soon as I’m done, I hang up (just like a voicemail)… and boom – I have an e-mail with the message transcribed.  (Details here)

Pretty cool, huh?

I’ve been a Jott user for months now, but it’s always fun to show these little secrets with others.  Now it’s your turn.. give it a whirl.  I’m sure you’ll find as much value in it as I have.

As a common closing comment, if you know of a cool new technology like this – please, pass it on.  Anything that helps create a system or makes my life more simple is welcome!

I can’t tell you how many times I’m driving and I scramble for my pen and note-book and attempt at scribbling a note…

Jott certainly sounds like a great find! A little efficiency would be a good thing. You know our A/E’s might find a benefit to this as well.
